Sample Mr. Anker Tests
In the Kindergarten level set of tests, students begin with a voiced prompt that asks the student to find
a common object in their school or home environment, or a recognizable animal. Later the voiced prompt
is changed to a text prompt, and then the position of the text and pictures is reversed, giving
the student one picture and three words to choose from.
One of the most important math skills young students
need to master is place value. This quiz allows students to practice this
skill in ways other than the textbook/worksheet method.

In these 1st Grade Vocabulary Tests, we are trying to bridge the gap between reading individual
words for meaning and reading short phrases and sentences, where context and picture clues aid
in arriving at the right answer.

Non-computational questions are the ones that typically give students the
most difficulty. Here the student is asked to complete the sequence that is descending.

Many of the types of items students see on standardized tests and tests generated by the publishers
of textbook series are often as simple as choosing a synonym or antonym of an underlined
word as shown here.

Spelling has been 'rediscovered' as a valuable skill. Students need lots
of varied opportunities to practice and test themselves with progressively more
challenging sets of words. One of the advantanges of a collection like this is
that all the graded lists are available... below, at, or above a student's assigned
grade level.
The 4th Grade Reference Skills Test (not pictured) allows the student to practice
with many of the types of materials they are called upon to use at this grade level and
in all the school years beyond. We all realize that the use of the computer as a reference tool is
becoming more and more common, but the ability to interpret and understand information
from these types of sources will remain. Many are even being translated to electonic
formats in the design of web pages.
Many are some other screen shots of tests. No description for these shots follows....
